"One day I'll introduce myself and you'll see you've not yet met me"

It's no secret I love Alanis Morissette but did you know she came out with a new album? Flavors of Entanglement. Jeff gave it to me yesterday for our anniversary and I already love it! She always has a lot of interesting things to say. One her website she wrote about this album: "songs written for me to get it all out so I don't get sick... to distill, clarify, flesh-out, catapult". This blog is so I don't get sick :) One song called "Straitjacket" is totally how I feel right now, disclaimer: she does swear. The song talks about how people don't see you as you really are and they talk in circles so much you go crazy.

"Something so benign from me construed as cruelty
Such a difference between who I am and who you see"

I'm totally dealing with this. The person/people who are supposed to care for me the most can be/have been the most judgmental. I don't want to be a burden on people I just don't know how to exist as anything other than who I am.

"Your way's making me mental
How you filter as skewed interpret
I swear you won't be happy 'til
I'm bound in a straitjacket"

Over the past few days I've been contemplating how much in this life I've had to figure out on my own with very little supportive influences. It's a little overwhelming when I think about it. Everyone sees the world through their own filter so it may just be my perspective but as a wise woman once taught me about parenting "the reality of the situation doesn't matter as much as how they see it" (they refers to my child but it applies to adults too). It wasn't until adulthood that I found an ally in my sister and I have found her love and support crucial. She's my rock :) Hey Amber, remember when we scalped tickets to see Alanis in 1996 because it was sold out? When we saw her in Idaho, circa 1999, and Garbage opened for her was the greatest concert ever!

"I swear I'd burn this city down to show you the light"

~"Sophomore Slump or Comeback of the Year" by Fall Out Boy

"I don't want this moment to ever end
Where everything's nothing without you
I'll wait here forever just to, to see you smile
'Cause it's true, I am nothing without you

Through it all, I've made my mistakes
I stumble and fall, but I mean these words

I want you to know
With everything I won't let this go,
these words are my heart and soul
I'll hold on to this moment you know,
'cause I'd bleed my heart out to show
That I won't let go"
~ "
With Me" by Sum 41

"If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with my and just forget the world?"
~ "
Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol

"So may people gonna say that they want you,
to try to get you thinking they really care.
But there's nothing like the warmth of the one
who has put in the time and you know he's gonna be there."
~ "I'm in Love with a Girl" by Gavin DeGraw
"You make the knees of my bees weak
Tremble and buckle
You make the knees of my bees weak"
- "Knees of my bees" by Alanis Morissette

"Seasons are changing
And waves are crashing
And stars are falling all for us
Days grow longer and nights grow shorter
I can show you I'll be the one

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven"
~ "
Your Guardian Angel" by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

"I like where you sleep,
When you sleep, next to me.
I like where you sleep... here

Our lips, can touch
And our cheeks, can brush
Our lips can touch here"

` "Here in Your Arms" by Hellogoodbye

"About no one, and nothing in particular"

Oh, I'm on fire with the song lyric titles! This one and this one are from "Straight Lines" by Silverchair. It's kinda my favorite song right now :)

My mind has been pretty random lately...
- I can read a book in a day. I never knew that before. Actually, I get so into reading it's hard for me not to finish a book as fast as I can once I start it. Even when they're heart-wrenching like Ender's Game. I had to re-read my favorite parts of Twilight the next day just to lift my spirits :)
- I think I'd be a better housewife if I was judged on my reading skills and not my cleaning skills. Ha ha, I think that's only funny to me :)
- The Tetris effect: interesting, very interesting.
- Rod needed my van to take Jordan and his friends to Mexico so I have his trusty Acura RL in my possession. I'm in love, I don't ever want to give it back! Like I said before, if I was only going to have 3 children I'd be in a sedan lickety-split but I think that'd be a crazy reason to stop having kids... even for my car-obsessed self :)
-Keri's son Kyle is my favorite person to give a ride home. Today he noticed the navigation system in the RL and was blown away. When I showed him the back-up camera he said "That's the awesomest thing I've ever seen!". Awhile back he marveled at the mini-van too, "My family would kill for automatic doors". Ha ha, love him!
- My sister and I are going to be in Blythe at the end of next week, I don't know how I feel about it just yet. She's always a joy to hang out with but Blythe is so hot and staying inside makes me stir crazy. I guess we'll just have to put on some Gavin DeGraw and sing along at the top of our lungs :) Ah, it just might work :)
- If you haven't read "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer you should. Thank you Jared for letting me borrow it :)

"They tried to make me go to rehab..."

Kidding :)

I just want to "out" myself because about a week ago we blew the dust off of our Nintendo. Yes, it's a Nintendo NES, old school right!?! Well, I'm addicted. Tetris has my heart. And really the only reason I'm even telling anyone is because I'm pretty stinkin' good at it!! Today I reached what I believe to be a lifetime best: 190 lines, 142,427 pts! Yes, the thousands of dollars spent on my college education can be best demonstrated in my Tetris skills. It's pretty sad.

You may be saying to yourself, "She has 3 kids, where does she find the time to play?" Well, Davis was napping and Leah was playing with Grayson...or so I thought. This is what he was actually doing:
