"Country roads take me home"

-"Take me home, country roads" by John Denver

Davis had so much fun during his time in Blythe. The pictures my mom sent home reminded me soooo much of my own childhood it made me laugh. Here's what they did:

They ate Mexican food:

They went fishing (and caught "NONE FISH" according to Davis):

They picked lemons off the tree:

They fed the horses:

Davis was there for 6 days! When he came home I asked him if he had fun and he said "yeah, we watched a lot of movies!" ha ha. He's so easily pleased :)

"We are a happy family"

-Children's Songbook p. 198

We try to do FHE regularly but we're really not that consistent :( Things are getting better now that Leah's old enough to tell that it's Monday...she keeps up in check :) Here's our style of FHE:

Grayson finally learned to shut his eyes during the prayer:
This is Grayson peeking during the prayer:
Of course Jeff and I saw him doing it and, even though it was setting a bad example, we couldn't stop laughing...it was too funny!

The "activity" and "treat" aka Twister and Nerds:
This is Davis telling us what he learned at preschool that day:

Sorry it's so dark, I can't really tell you enough how technologically challenged I am!

The End.

"Oh, this mess I have made"

-"Mess" by Ben Folds Five

Grayson didn't sleep well last night and he only took a 45 minute nap today! I feel totally robbed of my rest. He is feeling well enough now though to be in his full mess-making capacity and that makes me smile... and cringe. Even though it makes for cute memories I'M TIRED. Oh well, let's focus on the cuteness shall we?

Here's tonight's lovely rice dinner hair pomade:
It's kinda his "thing" to rub dinner in his hair.
Here's some pictures from the archives:
on the left we have soup and on the right spaghetti

And let's not forget this amazing display of creativity:
That cheesy little grin totally makes me laugh out loud... and I'm sure that's good for my health or something :)

"If I just lay here, would you lie with me?"

-"Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol

I'm so tired right now. Grayson hasn't been sleeping well for the past couple of nights and it's starting to add up...for both of us. For a few days he was cranky at night and just wanted to be rocked all night, but yesterday he got all congested and then last night he got a fever. Today I bought one of those nifty thermometers where you drag it across their forehead instead of the other "invasive" kind- you know what I'm talking about ;). Well, it said his fever is 102.6 degrees :( He is finally resting right now, which is how I have hands to type, and it's unusually quiet since Jeff took the older kids with him to finish ripping up some of the old carpet in a rental house my FIL owns. They actually wanted to go with him since the house is empty and there's plenty of room to run. There's also a swing set in the backyard so they actually like visiting this house. I called Jeff a little while ago and I could hear them playing really loudly in the background so I guess it's a good break for all of us :)

Oh yeah, Grayson is pretty much numb to the world or whining about something....except when Dora is on! He still finds the energy to say "map" and "backpack" just like old times :) Maybe he thinks if he didn't speak up baby jaguar would never be saved. Ah, what a sweetheart.

Here's the week in review:
Tuesday night we took Leah and Davis with us to watch the Rebel basketball team stomp on TCU 71 - 57. I loved it but the kids were kinda bored. Leah liked watching the cheerleaders though and during half-time they had little girls in UNLV cheerleader outfits doing a dance. She thought they were cute :)
Wednesday after Leah and Davis got out of school we drove down and met my Mom in Needles so Davis could drive down the rest of the way with her to Blythe. My Mom and Dad had invited him down for a few days to spend time with them. It's weird for me to have only two kids around!
Thursday my mom sent me this picture of Davis and my dad. It looks like they're having fun!
Friday we went out with Danny and Jenny on our 4th annual Valentine's date. We weren't into splurging so we went to an old standard Macaroni Grill and it was delicious! Also, Jenny left her twins with the babysitter for the first time since their birth! It definitely made for a more relaxing time and she didn't even stress. I'm so proud ;)
Saturday we celebrated the actual Valentine's Day with heart-shaped pizza. I'm not really into this holiday but Leah thought the pizza was sooo cute and that makes me happy :) I also spent a lot of the day shopping and, even though it's slightly enjoyable, it just exhausts me. I'm just not a natural born shopper. The whole time I was in Old Navy I was wishing my sister was with me to tell me what to buy :) But I did make a friend in line and she gave me a 40% off one item coupon she wasn't using! Yea, I got to buy myself some maternity jeans for $21! You can never go wrong with jeans :)
And there you go.

This picture is titled
"My Little Black Boy"
or
"What happens when a 1 year old gets friendly with his older sister's paint set while Mommy is talking on the phone with her sister".

Oh yeah, the barbecue skewer he has is courtesy of his older brother's stick fetish. No hazard is left unexplored by this one :)

Completing a tag:

Instructions: Go to your picture file, go to the 6th folder and post the 6th picture and explain it.Well, I've already blogged a picture like this but in the spirit of keeping with the tag here it is again. My kiddos in the tub pretty much sums it up :) Grayson doesn't look so happy here, I think I just got him wet or something. This was December of 2007... a whole year ago and their faces haven't changed that much to me! And they still LOVE to bathe together :)

"Got a pocket full of sunshine"

- "Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield

I had my OB check-up today and everything's great! The bleed is gone and the baby measured perfectly! I was very relieved because about two weeks ago I had a dream that I miscarried the baby and even though I knew it was just a dream, those pregnancy dreams are VIVID! I have another appointment in 4 weeks and I'll be far enough along that they'll be able to determine the sex of the baby. Yea, I'm pretty excited. We thought about not finding out since we already have stuff for both a boy or girl but Leah is very anxious to know so I'll do it for her ;)

In other good news Leah came home and said that she was selected to spend time with the Principal of her school today. She wasn't in trouble, it was a reward! She couldn't really explain to me why she was picked but it was her and one other student from her class. They talked about "numbers and letters and the letter sounds". She's such a good kid and I'm sure these little acknowledgments are good for her self-esteem... not that she ever lacked any :) I'm just really proud of her and I'm delighted she's my daughter!

"And if, you could only let it be"

- "Complicated" by Avril Lavigne

Today I cleaned out my closet of all the clothes that I used to fit into but don't anymore, since I'm completely showing already. It was pretty depressing. I came out of the closet being all dramatic about it by laying my head down on the ironing board and pretending to cry. Jeff thought I was pretty funny and just rubbed my belly but Davis came in and was a little concerned. When I showed him I was pretending he laughed but I don't think he liked it very much :) Anyways, I realized I'm going to be pregnant all summer here in Vegas so instead of dreading it (like people keep telling me I should) I'm going to embrace it. I've looked at some cute maternity swimsuits, this one's my favorite so far:
Now if only I had her thighs :)

In other news: we're hoping to make on offer on a house today! That's pretty exciting. It's a short sale though so they sometimes take FOREVER and there can be lots of problems. I'm just going to hope for the best since it's really a great house for us. We have so much time before we "have" to move that I'm just going to try to be patient about it and hopefully everything will work out. Wish us luck!
