"Bees were humming, sweet birds singing"
-"Joseph Smith's First Prayer" hymn #26
We don't have our office set up so I don't blog in real time anymore :( And these pictures are all from my Mom's camera, I haven't even uploaded the few Jeff took yet! Moving into a new house is hard ha ha.

Anyways, over General Conference weekend Jeff and I took our kids camping on the Colorado River. We camped two nights, Friday and Saturday, to get the real camping experience. I had so much fun. It was like a snapshot of my childhood :)

The biggest challenge of the weekend was the potty situation. Grayson was wearing underwear but still having accidents and Davis DID NOT want to "go" in the bushes. I had brought the "potty chair" for Gray but Davis didn't want to use that either. He even asked if we could drive back to Papa's to go potty! After a little while both of them got the hang of the situation. Whew, crisis averted ;)
And then there was the skunk situation...
My parents came to camp with us Saturday night. As we ALL sat around the campfire out comes this skunk. She is not afraid of us and keeps coming back even though we keep throwing rocks at her. My dad has the brilliant idea that he's going to shot the skunk! After materializing a gun, getting all gangsta making sure it's still usable, realizing his 56 year old eyes can't see that good in the dark, encouraging me to shoot it even though it was scrounging for food on a big pile of ROCKS! and A LOT of laughter, I'm happy to report the skunk was not harmed. We even left some food out for her to eat. Okay, that was an accident :)

"I've got a feeling..."
-"Tonight's gonna be a good night" by The Black Eyed Peas
Leah's a fickle little girl. She's very physically active but on certain occasions she refuses to do some um... what's the word... things? She won't go to gymnastics anymore and at birthday parties she won't do any sort of race. Well, last Thursday night she told me Friday was P.E. and she didn't want to go. She said it was because they told her she had to wear tennis shoes and she didn't have any. Well, I reminded her that she did in fact have some, but then she reminded me how she hates them. Which is true. Leah would rather go bare foot.

Friday morning rolls around and she's in tears asking if she could please just stay home. What!? No. Of course I put her tennis shoes on her, encouraged her to try her best in P.E. and sent her to the bus stop. About 10am I get a phone call from the school saying Leah's in the office because her shoes are hurting her feet and she wants me to bring her a new pair. Of course I very sympathetically make my way down to the school, help her put the different shoes on and then ask her if she needs help finding her way back to her class. She tells me her class was in the P.E. room and she doesn't know if they're still there. What!? You were in the office when your class was in P.E.?
Very suspicious Leah, very suspicious!

"What 'do can compare with mine today?"
- Hairspray

Whitney has an afro!
Davis got a haircut, Leah's just cute :)
I got a haircut too!
Grayson has oatmeal hair... what a stinker!
I thought he'd grown out of this phase. Of course he did this while our water softener was being installed and the water was shut off. By the time it was turned back on his hair was crunchy, LOL.

"Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this"
-Kelly Clarkson
Whitney and I had a moment. Okay, I had a moment while holding Whitney. I'm not planning on birthing more children so...
she's probably going to be my last newborn!
I was rocking her when this thought occurred to me. It kinda took my breath away. They're just so cuddly and amazing at this stage! Their smell, their sounds, their cutely flailing arms. Can I be old enough for this chapter of my life to be ending!? I'd gladly adopt a newborn to have this experience again. I've SERIOUSLY thought about it. I'd gladly raise more children I just don't want to birth more children. Now I can see how the youngest gets totally spoiled :)
So Crystal asked me how I'm doing with 4 kids. Umm, how do I tell, LOL. It's hard for me to judge if the changes in my life are from the move or the new addition. We're living in a state of chaos. Partly because moving in general is hard, and partly because I had just had a baby less than two weeks prior to moving day. I think overall everything is just slow going and that's difficult for me to handle. I can't even post pics of my new house because most of it just looks like a construction zone! I've been practically begging Jeff to take some vacation days to get the house in order and more functional. He's yet to do it...
I did notice that the physical side of recovery had been more difficult this time. The after-pains were quite memorable! I'm consistently tired and having a lot of physical things on my to-do list doesn't help. I think there are a couple of people around me that expected me to be moving boxes UP THE STAIRS and things like that, but I didn't feel comfortable doing that. Well, I didn't feel comfortable doing that because every time I did the bleeding would come back (which I'm sure just added to the lack of energy). Anyways, I feel a lot better physically now. Whitney will be 7 weeks old on Sunday! Gasp!

"She is love"
-Parachute

Whitney has spent so much of her little life in her carseat! We've been so busy shopping for the new house AND going to and from Leah's school it seems like we've spent forever in the van. She comes with me everywhere and EVERYONE comments on her dark hair and of course her beauty too :) I can't really remember this much attention showered on my other babies... but they probably weren't out of the house this much.
2 weeks
3 weeks
4 weeks
But then again maybe she's just cuter than all the rest ;)
